With rough bark like that the tree itself will be Eucalyptus melliodora (yellow box) i think, the fruit is of a different species; possibly Eucalyptus rubida (Candlebark)

Very well chewed by invertebrates. Here (Laetiporus portentosus) you can see photos of this species, from prime condition to chewed out. It is common to see fallen, chewed-out examples.
